The Roast Ledger.

Every week somebody writes in to say we only make fun of their side. So Gary counted. Every joke, every episode, by who it lands on.

Season 1 totals

  • 204 Republicans
  • 225 Democrats
  • 28 Mitch
  • 68 Press and Media
  • 103 Billionaires and Lobbyists
  • 156 Everybody (Congress as a whole)

Season 1: Republicans 204, Democrats 225. Mitch was counted separately because he's a party of one. Put Mitch back in and it's 232 to 225. Nobody won. That was the plan.

Season 1, by episode

How Gary counts: a joke counts once, for whoever it lands on, not whoever says it, and setups and the fake commercials don't count. Bobby K. counts as a Republican because he works for one, Elon and Robert Dinero count as money, and Senator Flipperman counts as Everybody unless the bit is plainly about one party.

Notes from the counter

  • Democrats out-scored Republicans in five episodes. Republicans out-scored Democrats in the other five. Gary did not plan that. Gary checked twice.
  • Democrats had the first four. They were in charge of most of the material. Then Episode 5 happened. Then the tariffs. Then the group chat.
  • Press and Media: 68. Wolf asked for a recount. We are standing by.
  • Congress as a whole: 156. That's the only category both parties are winning together.
  • Gary: 0. Gary counted. Gary is the intern. Nobody roasts the intern. Nobody notices the intern.

Counted by hand, from the scripts, by Gary. Recounted once. Same numbers. Season 2 gets added every Sunday.
